The iPhone (launch date: June 29, 2007) is among the most complete, not to mention most anticipated,smartphones to ever hit the street. Yes, it is a phone, but that’s only a portion of what this device is capable of. Home Digital Integration

As a cell phone, the iPhone automatically synchronizes your contacts from your PC, Mac or internet service. The touch-screen technology allows you to easily select a number to call or a voicemail message, without listening to all your messages first. You can also construct a favorites list for your frequently called numbers, as well as make conference calls. The screen also transforms into a predictive QWERTY that prevents and corrects mistakes as you write text messages.

As an iPod, the iPhone will play music,audiobooks, videos, TV shows, and movies, which are all available on fully scrollable screens. Among the coolest features is the ability to scroll for an album by looking at its cover art. You can also sync content from your iTunes library on your PC or Mac.

As a portable internet device, the iPhone uses Safari as its web browser, which will again sync content from your home computer. Safari also allows you to view web pages as they were designed and zoom in on the portions of the screen that interest you. With iPhones internet capabilities, you’ll be able to surf the web while your e-mail downloads via Wi-Fi or EDGE, and you’ll have access to Google Maps (which includes satellite images, directions and traffic info), stock and weather reports, and YouTube.
